Come join the fun at Bug Light Park where the South Portland Historical Society will host its 16th annual 4th of July event - the Independence Day Classic Car Show, presented by Yankee Ford.From 11am to 2pm, there will be a display of vintage and classic cars on the lawn across from the museum. If you have an old car, you are welcome to join us; call 767-7299 for more information.
The Nor'Easters Kite Club will be joining the fun with their patriotic-themed kites.
At 12 noon, we will witness a reading of the Declaration of Independence from the front porch of the museum.
The popular Summer in Maine Auction will be featured at the car show. Bid on a wide variety of auction items that are themed on fun things to do in Maine in the summertime. Bidding will close shortly after the reading of the Declaration of Independence (estimated closing time ~ 12:30pm)
Food will be available by food trucks.
Kites, kite wands (for young children) and t-shirts will be available for sale at the event.
