About this Event
Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) has entered household name status, thanks to products reaching consumers and being hyped over social media in the last few years. Some cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI and emerging Quantum Computing present practical opportunities to impact healthcare in the future, even though real application remains a gray area today. The foundations of new technologies are promising, yet learning to replace or augment humans, which causes job fears globally, is not the true value of AI. The real promise of a positive change is its potential ability to achieve what humans cannot do at all or cannot do effectively. We will discuss multiple topics such as quantum computing and its medical applications, AI for drug discovery, digital pathology, and multispecialty analytics drawing complex insights from causal relationships between medical conditions – as examples of high-value AI. We will also touch on where AI is just an extra cost for augmenting what humans already excel in.
