Inclusive Leadership Course and Paddle Uks Paddle-ability module.This is a great three-day course for anyone working with or supporting someone with a disability in the Outdoors. By the end of the course, you should feel more confident in adapting your practise to be more inclusive and have more ideas in your 'toolbox' for making simple adaptions.
Day 1: We begin with disability awareness training, following Paddle UK's syllabus. This is worth 10 CPD points for paddle coaches. The afternoon is spent looking at simple and affordable kit that can transform someone's experience on the water.
Day 2: We focus on adaptive techniques and aiding people from
arriving at the location to accessing the activity. We will cover mobility impairments, visual impairments and cognitive impairments. We also begin to look at manual handling techniques. This day is co-run with an occupational therapist.
Day 3: We finish looking at the legalities of manual handling, using hoists and postural support.
£234 for the 3 days (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). 10am - 4pm
