About this Event
For her Inaugural Lecture, Professor Lisa Milroy RA presents “Studio Story”, an overview of the evolution of her practice as a still life painter. The various studios in which she has worked provide the framework for charting a physical, social, economic and intellectual context for the oeuvre.
Milroy’s cultivation of her studio as a means to nourish her practice has been a feature of her career since the early 1980s, profoundly shaping her life and sense of purpose. It has facilitated her deep fascination for craft and invention, her appreciation of tradition and fabrication, and a holistic approach to the interflow between life inside and outside the workplace.
