About this Event
The Auckland Faculty of Law invite you to the Inaugural Private and Commercial Law Symposium. This event provides an opportunity for academics, practitioners, students and judges to come together to discuss key issues in the law and the way it works in practice.
This year will focus on three topics. The morning will be devoted to contracts and their interpretation, which underpins so much of private and commercial law. The afternoon will then focus on two more bespoke, modern challenges – environmental disclosure obligations and banking sector disruption.
We will have multiple panels, involving representatives from the judiciary, academia and practice, to discuss these topics. The Symposium will also provide the opportunity for significant audience engagement.
The day will finish with networking drinks in honour of Professor Brian Coote – whose legacy included a desire to bring Auckland academia and the profession together.
Event lasts 8 hours and eligible participants will be entitled to 6 CPD points from full attendance
