About this Event
Come meet Wild Virginia's Habitat Connectivity Program Director and learn how you can help scientists learn more about the living things all around us. You will get a crash course in how to use the citizen science app iNaturalist and how to ethically observe plants, animals, and fungi in natural areas.
We will be walking the Piratebush Trail, which is an approximately 1.1 mile loop trail. There is also another hike to an overlook that is 4 miles, if anyone chooses to walk it, too. Please make sure to bring water, good walking/hiking shoes, and sunscreen/bug spray if you wish to use it. Poor Mountain Natural Area Reserve has only 10 parking spots, and when the lot is full, the reserve is considered at capacity. Because of this, we are limiting this event to 6 spaces for registering. Multiple people may ride in the same vehicle, though!
