Texture Contemporary Ballet’s 15th Anniversary Season continues with In This Moment, a poignant and powerful evening of dance - Experience three compelling world premieres that explore memory, connection, and the human spirit.Texture’s Resident Choreographer, Madeline Kendall Schreiber, delves into the richness of memory in her new work, "Portraits." Exploring moments held in time and the multitude of emotions tied to them, she reveals how - even though time is fleeting - our memories are constantly growing and evolving.
Originally created in 2020, "The Art of Conversation" by Pittsburgh choreographer Shana Simmons finally takes the stage after being sidelined by the pandemic. This thought-provoking work reflects on the rise of social media and the cacophony of voices in our polarized world, asking what it truly means to listen, speak, and connect.
Rounding out the program, Artistic Director Alan Obuzor presents "Falling In/Out," a riveting new piece that explores the fragile beauty of relationships - how they flourish, fracture, and leave their lasting mark.
Don’t miss In This Moment - an introspective and timely program - on stage at the New Hazlett Theater, September 19–21.
