Velkommen til utstillingen In the Eyes of the Child, 19.6.–15.8. 2021 på Kunsthall Oslo. Med verk av Ahmed Umar, Bella Fasmer, Doodle Twins, Edda Gimnes, Gamle Mercedes, Guttestreker, Helene Duckert, Jibril Lateef, Julie Aida, Julius Karoubi, Maria Bårdsdatter Foslie, Nicole Rafiki, Sofia Quan Heggelund, Tine Poppe og Tyler Metzger, med flere.
Ungdomsrådet på Kunsthall Oslo har kuratert utstillingen, som utforsker identitet og forsøker å se kunsten med et åpent blikk.
Kuratorene er Hamda Barise, Hamza Iqbal, Josra Talhioui, Julian Brito-Benestad, Mohamed Bashir, Nabila Mohamed, Philippa Taube og Saiida Mohamud.
I løpet av sommeren kan ungdom delta på en rekke åpne verksteder i utstillingen med Oslo-baserte kunstnere. Gjennom verksteder i maleri, foto, performance, dans, tekst, silketrykk og design blir utstillingen en møteplass for profesjonelle kunstnere og unge som har lyst til å uttrykke seg kreativt. Kanskje får noen øynene opp for en fremtidig kunstkarriere? Det som produseres skal også stilles ut, og man kan se arbeider laget av ungdom som har deltatt i performance- og tekstprosjektene Agenda teXt, Limitless og musikkstudioet til Forandringshuset Grønland.
Utstillingen er del av prosjektet Oslo Kunst- og Kunnskapsverksted. Det er et samarbeid mellom Kunsthall Oslo, Agenda X og Forandringshuset Grønland, med støtte fra Kulturrådet, Sparebankstiftelsen, Bergesenstiftelsen, Fritt Ord og Kulturtanken.

Kunsthall Oslo’s youth board, Hamda Barise, Hamza Iqbal, Josra Talhioui, Julian Brito-Benestad, Mohamed Bashir, Nabila Mohamed, Philippa Taube and Saiida Mohamud, have curated this exhibition. The show explores issues around identity and aims to approach art with an open mind.
The exhibition and parallel workshops at Kunsthall Oslo are part of the project Oslo Art and Knowledge Workshop, in collaboration with Agenda X and Forandringshuset Grønland. The project has been supported by Arts Council Norway, the Savings Bank Foundation DNB, the Bergesen Foundation, Fritt Ord and Kulturtanken.
