In The Den is BACK! And this time we are partying with a purpose.
April 3, 2025 is In the Den w/Roscoe Burnems: From Emancipation to Reparations.
The event will celebrate 160 years since Richmond’s Emancipation Day. This program will feature spoken word from Moe Flowz of The Writer’s Den RVA and music from the legendary, Sam Reed. Plus interviews from Joseph Rogers of the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, national reparations organizer Dreisen Heath, and Virginia organizer Chelsea Higgs Wise will provide on-the-ground updates about the movement towards reparations. Hosted by Richmond, VA's inaugural poet laureate Douglas Powell/Roscoe Powell
Guests will have an opportunity to ask their own questions at the end with our panelists
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for small plates by a local vendor, and programming is from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
