About this Event
Outside of our cities, Central Oregon and Southeastern Oregon still have some of the darkest and most starry skies in the lower 48 . We experience up to 300 days of sunshine per year, low humidity and high transparency for star gazing. Our night skies, however, are threatened by poor outdoor lighting choices and the resulting light pollution.
But it turns out that light pollution is one of the easiest forms of pollution to eliminate! Learn what DarkSky Oregon is doing to preserve our night skies and what you can do to help; then, get some hints for star gazing and astro tourism opportunities in Central Oregon.
Please arrive a few minutes early if you'd like to grab a drink before the event. There will be no table service in the banquet room, so come in early to dine in the pub, or order your food at the bar. Due to limited capacity, each individual must register for their own ticket. Please cancel if you find yourself unable to attend.
