About this Event
In that Rich Earth
Delve into the stories of those who answered the call to serve with our Senior Historian and Curator in this public program which reflects on the international soils located in the Anzac Memorial's Hall of Memory, each invested with memories of triumph and tragedy while reminding us of the courage, endurance and sacrifice displayed by our service personnel.
Learn why these soils represent service in Queen Victoria's name, the part men and women from this state played in the Great War and since then how Australia's professional sailors, soldiers and aviators have faced deadly conflict and how our peacekeepers have negotiated and navigated situations that have avoided hostilities in some of the most tense and tragic situations. Find out why some of the receptacles remain poignantly empty.
Join us to gain a deeper insight into why in the floor of the Anzac Memorial that rich earth will remember always the sacrifices made by Australian servicemen and women.
