- The readings will be followed by a book signing.

Books Are Magic Pride Fest is now QUEER ALL YEAR, and to celebrate, we're bringing five amazing authors and illustrators for a fun-filled morning of storytimes!

Lindz Amer (they/them) creates LGBTQ+ and social justice media for kids and families. They wrote, produced, and co-hosted Queer Kid Stuff—an original LGBTQ+ educational webseries for ages 3 and up—which The Huffington Post called a “groundbreaking YouTube educational resource.” They wrote Rainbow Parenting, a queer and gender-affirming parenting guidebook for grown-ups and host the Rainbow Parenting podcast! They also write and consult for preschool television! You can find them online at lindzamer.com.
Ash + Chess is a stationery & gift company run by queer and trans couple Ashley Molesso (she/her) and Chess Needham (he/him), based in Upstate New York. They create greeting cards, art prints, and more in bold, retro color palettes, often using their artwork to uplift the queer community. Their company made its debut at the National Stationery Show in May 2017, and since then over 700+ retailers throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia sell their art and stationery. In the short time they've been in business, Ash + Chess have worked on many collaborations including artwork for Target, Smartfood, Skittles, Nooworks, Belletrist, Plaza Style, Brooklyn Roasting Co., Transfigure Print Co., HarperCollins, Workman Publishing, Running Press Studio, Macy's STORY, and more. They are the authors of multiple publications, including: The Gay Agenda: A Modern Queer History & Handbook (Morrow Gift) 2020; Queer Tarot: An Inclusive Deck and Guidebook (RP Studio) 2022; My Queer Year Guided Journal (RP Studio) 2022; ABC-Deconstructing Gender (RP Kids) 2023, and The Big Book of Queer Stickers (RP Studio) 2023.
Jonathan Merritt is an award-winning columnist and commentator on politics, spirituality, and culture. He is a contributing editor for The Week and has been featured on prominent national outlets including The New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and CNN. Jonathan has authored four critically-acclaimed books and has also served as a ghostwriter on dozens of others, many of which became New York Times bestsellers. Jonathan is a proud biological Guncle to five little ones in Georgia and a proud adoptive Guncle to ten nephews and nieces in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, where he resides.
Allen R. Wells (he/him) is an author and engineer. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and went on to study architectural engineering at Tennessee State University in Nashville. It’s Pride, Baby! is his debut picture book. He currently lives in Virginia.
