Art and culture organisations exist in a porous relationship with the world: shaped by it but also shaping it. Honed by our desire to exist in a free and equal world, we create a moment in time and space where that desire can be reimagined and exercised, as we continue to speak out against discrimination and oppression, and ultimately -or primarily- against the undergoing genocide. Our hands are not tied, Palestine is not forgotten. The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, on November 29th, is our prompt for gathering in a space where both grief and celebration are welcome, as we take the time to actively solidarise with Palestinians.
Despite the cultural, political and economically fragile situation the art sector in Europe currently faces, collaborations have been key for the continuity of art. It is not different in this case: In Solidarity is a joint effort of Cinema Queer, Konsthall C, Kafé Mix/höjden studios, MDT Moderna Dansteatern, Mint and Reading Edge.
Through multiple events in different locations in Stockholm, we continue our affirmations of the Palestinian people's right to liberation, dignity, justice and peace.
All proceeds from the events, including ticket sales, donations and art auction sales, will go toward Palestinian solidarity efforts via Palestinagrupperna.
