About this Event
IN SITU is back! This design series brings the conversation out of the lecture theatre and into the real world.
Join Architects Vedran Škopac and Shafraaz Kaba on their guided tour of the priMED Mosaic Centre.
The priMED Mosaic Centre, is the earth’s northern most net-zero energy commercial building. Envisioned and pioneered by Christy Benoit and Dennis Cuku, designed by Manasc Isaac (now Reimagine) and built by Chandos Construction, the Centre opened in Summerside in February 2015.
Powered by an array of over 213 kW photovoltaic (PV) panels, and heated/cooled by 32 geothermal wells, the priMED Mosaic Centre is one of the most environmentally-conscious buildings in Canada. It has achieved LEED Platinum Certification, the highest possible level of recognition for environmental stewardship on a construction project. The building is also a bright, fresh-air, positive energy environment designed to help building occupants feel happy and inspired at work.
