
About this Event
Does your child have a wild imagination, a passion for storytelling, or a love for self-expression? Our FREE Creative Writing Camp is designed to nurture young writers (ages 8-16) by exploring the art of storytelling, poetry, journaling, and scriptwriting in a fun, supportive environment!
Through engaging activities, and interactive storytelling exercises, campers will:
✅ Develop their unique voice through poetry, short stories, and journaling
✅ Learn storytelling techniques used by authors, screenwriters, and spoken-word artists
✅ Build confidence in self-expression through creative exercises and group sharing
✅ Explore new writing mediums like comics, scripts, and personal essays
✅ Perform their writing project in our Youth Creatives Showcase

Agenda
Interpretation Exercise
Info: Youth will explore written works of known artists. They will journal their thoughts and feelings about the piece and discuss the different layers of meaning.
Writing Lesson
Info: Facilitator will present the writing lesson and assignment for the day. They will guide the youth through fun and engaging activities to strengthen their writing skills.
Performance Preparation
Info: Youth will develop their individual works and practice delivery in preparation for the Youth Creatives Showcase.
