We are thrilled to invite you to join us on Saturday, 18th May at 4pm in the beautiful Goldie Chapel, Nano Nagle Place, on Douglas St., for our final concert of the 2023-2024 season!Our programme, In Praise of Song features some of our favourite choral pieces spanning several centuries and styles. We begin with a playful Madrigal by Giaches de Wert, reminding us of the beauty and joy of Spring.
We also feature a rarely performed Madrigal by Maddalena Casulana (1544-1583) as well as Eleanor Daley's stunning setting, Grandmother Moon. Other highlights are Earth Song, a poignant setting of words and music by American composer Frank Ticheli.
Our short concert concludes with music from Ireland, Stanford’s sublime choral classic, The Bluebird, and settings of The Parting Glass and The Flower of Maherally arranged by renowned Irish composers.
Admission is free, donations welcome in aid of Nano Nagle Place, we look forward to seeing you there!
