About this Event
An introduction to starting a business, run by Wendy Foster, one of the Small Business Research & Enterprise Centre’s (SBREC) Business Advisers.
We will look at some key elements to starting a business such as the legal structure, who you have to tell, funding and your business plan, and explain our specialist resources that you will be able to use to find great information for your business planning.
Who is this for: anyone thinking of starting a business, with no previous experience.
Agenda
10:30-11:15 Introduction to SBREC and our Membership, followed by the steps to consider when starting a business; legal status, raising finance, who you need to tell, your business premises, Intellectual Property, and more.
11:15-12:00 Preparing your business plan, looking at your SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis, financial forecasting and pricing, business plans and Business Model Canvas. You will have the opportunity to then use the Centre’s specialist resources to help you start your business plan research.
