Course Content
Wellbeing Champions Introduction
This first session will guide you through the role of a Wellbeing Champion, the support you can receive from the Wellbeing at Work Team and to start to talk and think about mental health and wellbeing within your workplace or community setting.
eMECC (Making Every Contact Count)
Making Every Contact Count (MECC) focues on using our everyday encounters with other people to support healthier lifestyles. MECC is not about telling other people ‘what to do’ - and you’re not being expected to do extra work. MECC is based on having brief empathetic conversations - which can help support a person’s motivation to change.
Self-Care Session - to be announced
During this session, which will be announced soon, you will explore how to improve your own wellbeing and how to manage your emotions, whilst developing a general understanding of wellbeing and resilience.
Connect 5: Session 1
Connect 5 is a workforce training programme, created to up skill non-mental health specialists to better understand and feel confident to have everyday conversations about mental health and wellbeing in their everyday encounters. This course aims to provide participants with skills and competencies that build confidence in having conversations about health and wellbeing in their routine practice so that they can be more effective in helping people to manage mental health problems and increase their resilience and mental wellbeing through positive changes.
The Connect 5 pre course info will be sent out directly via our trainer Mandy Chapman, so please look out for this email prior to your course start date.
Connect 5: Session 1 is part of a 3 session programme. We recommend booking Connect 5 Session 2 and 3 if you would like to complete additional training following the completion of your Wellbeing Champions training.
