About this Event
In person event! Participants will receive an up close, hands-on experience that provides critical insight into the world of dementia. This program is invaluable to people who are caring for a person with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. When someone is diagnosed with dementia, it affects everyone: the family, friends, and professional caregivers. The Virtual Dementia Tour® helps shed light on some of the responsive behaviours exhibited by individuals living with dementia.
FAQs
What can I expect?
Participants go through the Tour individually. To register, you will select a specific time slot within the 2 hour period. On arrival at your designated time you will be outfitted with gear that alters your senses (e.g., vision, hearing, touch) in order to experience some of the challenges faced by older people living with dementia. You will have an opportunity to reflect on and talk about your experience. Please wear socks and closed toe footwear. Please allocate approximately 60 minutes for the Tour. If you are interested in doing the Tour as part of a small group, please contact the organizer.
