Class Description: Come to the SFSNAD studio this afternoon and learn to embroider this collection of springtime flowers! Perfect for beginners or stitchers who have taken our Stitch Foundation or Bite Size for Beginners courses. This arrangement of bright stitches, taught by educator Laura Tandeske, will introduce you to the following surface stitches: Chain stitch, Buttonhole stitch, French Knots and Lazy Daisy (detached chain).
Provided for you to keep:
- Base fabric
- Embroidery needles
- Embroidery floss
- Fabric chalk pencil for tracing designs
Provided for your use during the course:
- Embroidery hoop/frame (personal preference)
- Embroidery scissors
- Embroidery light & magnifier
- Light snacks
About the educator: Laura has been embroidering for 40+ years specializing in Surface Embroidery. She studied Fine Art at California State University East Bay, and embroidery with the Embroiderers Guild of America as well as San Francisco School of Needlework and Design. Her piece called “Balance” toured the United States and Canada as part of the 2 year Sixteenth National Exhibit with the Embroiderers Guild of America. She has won numerous awards including “Best in Show” at the California State Fair in Sacramento. While Laura's first love is doing embroidery, her very close second is teaching embroidery. She loves bringing this ancient healing art to students while enjoying the beautiful and growing community at SFSNAD.

Cancellation policy: SNAD will refund tuition less a $25 processing fee up to 3 days (72 hours) prior to class start time. No refunds for cancellations with less than 3 days notification before class start time.
