About this Event
The Mental Health Association in Delaware is offering an in-person Mental Health First Aid Training (MHFA) at the Community Service Building (100 W. 10th Street, Wilmington, DE 19801) on Friday, May 9th from 8:30am to 4pm ET. MHFA helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the MHFA course, you'd learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help. MHFA teaches about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well. Please note, we only provide MHFA for adults, which teaches people how to recognize and respond to mental health challenges in adults ages 18 and older. Snacks will be provided, and parking is free (with validation). Registration opens on April 1st and ends on May 7th!
*Note: CEUs are not offered for this training. However, you will receive a certificate of attendance. Additionally, the ticket fee is non-refundable.
