IN PERSON: Cruising for Kinksters

Join The Gay Barn’s Billy and Emma (our Sub Rosa Ops Manager) to discuss how to find, approach, and connect with other kinky queers. The Gay Barn wants to build your confidence and give you the tools you need to find new connections!

Whether you’re new to the scene or experienced, it’s not always easy to put yourself out there or know where to start. In this class, learn about etiquette and strategies for successful approaches, from pick up play at events to cruising online. We will discuss flirting, expressing interest, making asks and offers, and negotiating scenes while staying grounded and confident. How do you move through fear, and communicate even when you’re nervous? How do you give and take rejection in stride? How do you even know what you’re looking for, let alone find it?

We’ll tackle these questions and more – bring your thoughts and questions! After the discussion, we’ll put it all into action and practice cruising with the other class attendees.

Who is this class for?

This class is directed at the LGBTQ community, and discusses the topics through that lens. The information is helpful whether you’re Dominant or submissive, top or bottom. It is great for anyone curious about entering or new to the queer kink scene, and anyone who has struggled with confidently seeking out others to play and connect with. This is a mostly discussion-based class, with time to practice these skills as well. Participation is encouraged!

Covid Policy

We encourage our community to be up to date with their vaccines to protect all of us. Please take this into consideration when making your personal risk assessments. Please, please, stay home if you are feeling under the weather in any way, scratchy throat, sniffles, or fever - we will refund your ticket. We encourage you to test before and after all large events. Proof of vaccinations is not required; masks are welcome but not required. There is an air filter in the space.

Unfortunately, our space is not ADA accessible and stairs are required. Reach out if there are other accessibility accommodations we might be able to make for you or if you need ASL interpretation.

Queen Emma is a femme dyke who has been working in adult entertainment for the last six years, starting as a stripper before moving into pro domming. She joined the Sub Rosa team as Operations Manager in early 2024. She works alongside her Daddy / wife / business partner Billy to organize and host kinky queer parties as The Gay Barn.

The Gay Barn began with a 3-night party in the country in summer 2022.
