Welcome to the In My Shoes Mini Film Festival!
The In My Shoes Mini Film Festival uplifts reproductive justice stories from community members across New Mexico, bringing forward the voices and lived experiences too often left unheard. The festival closes with Guillermina, a powerful film based on a true story that reconstructs the memory of a Black woman in the1940s in Havana through the eyes of the 9-year-old boy she cared for. As his nanny, Guillermina was a discreet but profound presence who left an indelible mark on his childhood. The film unfolds gradually, transcending personal memory to illuminate broader themes of racism, affection, erased memory, and silence.
