Join us at Formaggio Kitchen - Cambridge for a cheesy adventure at our classic series class, In it to Rennet!

Did you know that nearly all cheese is made with only 4 ingredients: milk, salt, bacteria, and rennet!

Rennet is truly the unsung hero in the story of cheese. Rennet is the general name for enzymes that act on proteins in milk. It starts the transformation of a vat of milk into a block of blue cheese, a chunk of colby, or a wedge of white cheddar.

The enzymes in rennet coagulate the milk and help separate the solid curds from the liquid whey, giving cheesemakers the raw material to create an amazingly varied collection of cheeses.

This class will guide you through the history of rennet, the different types, and how rennet impacts the cheese. But you won't be leaving Formaggio Kitchen with only a headful of ideas; our expert cheese monger will make sure your taste buds experience a lot of learning and tasting, too! You'll be treated to 3 or 4 flights of cheese and wine pairings that will bridge the theory and practice.

To fully participate in the class:
1. Reserve your ticket through Eventbrite! Purchase one ticket for each member of your party. The ticket price includes admission for one as well as a cheese plate, wine, and accompaniments for one.
2. Show up on the day of class! This is a standing event in our retail learning setting. The duration of the class is about an hour and a half. After class, there will be time to tour our cheese caves as well as shop our expansive product selection (at a 10% discount!). Expect light fare and sample portions.
3. This event is for 21+. Our staff will check IDs at the door.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are unable to attend a class, please let us know at least 72 hours before the class is scheduled to take place and we will give you a full refund or a credit for a future class. If you don't let us know in advance of the class, you are not entitled to any refund or credit.
