About this Event

Welcome to In Her Shoes!

Come join us at the Lake Land College to experience an interactive simulation of what victims and survivors of domestic violence experience while attempting to leave a domestic violence relationship. Partcipants will have the opportunity to understand, in a very compressed period of time the ups and downs a woman may encounter over the course of many years. Some of the stations' partcipants will walk through seeking help from hospital, family,friends,church, emergency shelter,the court system and more. Each partcipant will be able to choose the best path for themselves and/or character. The scenarios used within In Her Shoes are based on true stories and real life experiences of the one in three women affected by domestic violence.

This event is hosted by the 5th Judicial Circuit Family Violence Coordinating Council and HOPE of East Central Illinois
