About this Event

Join us at Rugby Library as we chat with Marianne Cronin about her latest book, Eddie Winston Is Looking for Love.

Eddie Winston is Looking for Love.

Eddie Winston is ninety years old. He has lived and he has loved, but he has never been kissed.
Now at the age of ninety, Eddie spends his days working in a charity shop in Birmingham city centre, where his job is to sort through the donations of the living and the dead. But there are some things that just can’t be banished to the rubbish dump and find their way to ‘the Eddie shelf’ including diaries, family photographs, and now, a stack of unsent love letters with a mystery attached.
When Bella drops off a donation of belongings from the late love of her life, Jake, Eddie knows he needs to keep hold of the personal and sentimental pair of trainers, just in case.
When Bella learns that Eddie is yet to have his first kiss, she resolves to help him finally find love, sparking an adventure that will take them to unexpected places and, they hope, bring Eddie to the moment he has waited for all his life.
As Bella tries to help Eddie, and Eddie tries to help, well, everyone, a beautiful, heartfelt, soul-stirring story unfolds, about how opening your heart can lead to surprising opportunities, emotions, and discoveries.
