About Evelyn Araluen:
Evelyn Araluen is a poet, researcher and co-editor of Overland Literary Journal. She has been awarded the Nakata Brophy Prize for Young Indigenous Writers, the Judith Wright Poetry Prize, a Wheeler Centre Next Chapter Fellowship, and a Neilma Sidney Literary Travel Fund grant for her widely published criticism, fiction and poetry. Evelyn's debut collection of poetry Dropbear won the 2022 Stella Prize. Born and raised on Dharug country, she is a descendant of the Bundjalung Nation.
About Jeanine Leane:
Jeanine Leane is a Wiradjuri writer, poet and academic from south-west New South Wales. Her first volume of poetry, Dark Secrets After Dreaming: A.D. 1887–1961, won the Scanlon Prize for Indigenous Poetry, and her first novel, Purple Threads, won the David Unaipon Award. In 2023 she won the David Harold Tribe Award for Poetry. Jeanine taught Creative Writing and Aboriginal Literature at the University of Melbourne, where she is currently First Nations Writer in Residence. Her latest publication is the poetry collection Gawimarra: Gathering.
