About this Event
Joshua Myers's recent book of poetry, Holy Ghost Key, celebrates the essential role of African music in the continuity and sustenance of African diasporic life and culture. Myers weaves his broad knowledge of African and African American music practices, genres, and instruments with his memory of gospel lyrics and symbols evoking African spirituality. Join Myers as he discusses his latest work with scholar Kyle Brooks, visiting assistant professor of theology and religious studies at the University of San Diego, and Nicholas Payton, Grammy Award-winning multi-instrumentalist and social activist. Books will be available for purchase from Reparations Club, and are available for prepurchase here.
