Join us on Thursday 11th July as we welcome Elle Nash and Camilla Grudova to celebrate the release of Deliver Me.
At a meatpacking facility in Missouri, Dee-Dee and her coworkers K*ll and butcher 40,000 chickens in a single shift.
The work is repetitive and brutal, with each stab and cut a punishment to her hands and joints, but Dee-Dee's more concerned with what is happening inside her body. After a series of devastating miscarriages, Dee-Dee has found herself pregnant, and she is determined to carry this child to term.
Camillia will also be discussing her own work, which includes the brilliant, Children of Paradise, a carnivalesque, transportive and gloriously spiky commentary on the detrimental nature of work hierarchies, as newcomer Holly joins the eccentric band of misfits who staff a ramshackle old cinema infested with secrets.
Elle and Camilla will be in conversation with VERVE Editor Jenna Gordon.
