As part of this years' Littlemore Summer Festival we will feature collaborative improvising in dance music and visual art during the afternoon. Malcolm Atkins the musician in residence at the church has specialised in improvising music for dance and visual art collaboration for some years and has supported the development of that in the church as well during the ten years he chaired the Oxford Improvisers and in various groups in the city - with Cafe Reason, Avid for Ovid, My Grandfather was a Fish, DEC, Drawing Dance, Confluence Collective and many others. The opportunity to experiment in spontaneous response to and with other art forms will take place throughout the summer festival. We hope people interested in these art forms will feel free to try out some collaboration.
Every year we open Littlemore Church and its grounds for a summer gathering with music, dance, arts, crafts, games and refreshments where everyone in the community can meet and celebrate our community.
This year we are celebrating Roots and Connections as our theme and there will be an exhibition from the community around this as well as performances during the afternoon.
