Improviser Casting Call - New Orleans Area

Thanks so much to everyone that has been supportive of and interested in Big Couch. We have more ways for you to do that, as a performer!
We are hosting an Improviser Casting Call on July 13 from 2 to 5 pm. This casting call is for improvisers who have completed one year (4 to 5 levels) of improv training and/or have been regularly performing in improv shows for at least a year.
Several local producers are looking for improvisers who can join casts in both existing and developing shows as well as gather into troupes or booked for one-off special events as further performance opportunities. While a few producers will be present, improvisers are also welcome to bring show ideas with them to the casting call. Big Couch can support development of show ideas or simply provide space for rehearsals and performances.
The Casting Call will include:
A Meet-and-greet
Introductions
Warm-up
Two Person Scenes
Improvised Monologues
Multi-person Scenes
Producers will extend invitations to rehearsals. Please allow two weeks for that as we are going to do our best to find spots for everyone either in a current show, developing show, or in a troupe.
If cast, improvisers will be required to attend rehearsals with coaches, though that varies upon the show format. Paying coaches is customary, and the cast will agree upon appropriate compensation for that. For shows at Big Couch, improvisers will be paid for show appearances, which is also dependent upon the show and audience attendance. Outside of attending rehearsals, those who are cast will be equipped with material to promote their shows and encouraged to do so.
