About this Event
- At ASU Online, we offer three workshops from Quality Matters:
- Intro to Quality Matters (QM): A primer on Quality Matters, covering fundamental concepts and the tools you need to evaluate your course using the Quality Matters Rubric standards. This is a two-week asynchronous workshop and moves at a generally relaxed pace.
- Improving Your Online Course (IYOC): Tailored for applying Quality Matters standards to enhance your existing online courses. This is a three-week, asynchronous workshop and moves at a relaxed pace. This course will help you modify your existing online course by leveraging the Quality Matters Rubric.
- Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR): Ideal for those aiming to become certified Quality Matters reviewers or interested in learning about the Quality Matters Rubric for course feedback and review purposes. An intense, two-week workshop with deep learning to apply the Quality Matters Rubric as an evaluation tool to review third-party courses. Ideal for instructional designers and faculty who intend to become a Peer Reviewer with Quality Matters.
"Improving Your Online Course" (IYOC) is through Quality Matters and walks you through making incremental improvements on a specific course. This is an excellent workshop if you’re just beginning to get familiar with the Quality Matters essential standards. This workshop focuses on the 22 essential course standards to help you improve your online course. Improvements are identified and prioritized as you work with two knowledgeable facilitators and a cohort of your colleagues across other colleges. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a cross-disciplinary team! As an added bonus, this is the same Quality Matters course that has been taken globally by hundreds of thousands of educators. The curriculum has been time-tested.
Should you choose to participate, there will be no cost to you. ASU Online will pay the Quality Matters enrollment cost for you.
Since Quality Matters and ASU recognize the value of this course, two registrations are required: First, register with ASU Eventbrite. Then, register with Quality Matters.
This three-week, fully online workshop is restricted to ASU instructors teaching in fully online degree programs (o-courses). Registrants MUST identify the pre-developed course they want to improve.
