Description
We are offering children aged 5-10 years old the chance to attend a 4-day Improvers course (4 x 1-hour sessions). The course is designed for children aged 5-10 years old who can already to ride a bike with pedals by themselves and would like to develop their skills and confidence further.
The course will teach children a number of more advanced skills through a range of fun activities and games. The course will also prepare children to learn how to cycle on the road in the future (not covered during this course).
The course will teach riders the following skills:
- Controlling speed
- Riding in a group
- Using gears
- Setting off
- Advanced cornering
- Taking a hand off the bars
- Racing skills
- Bike, helmet and clothing checks
The course is held over the following 4 dates with daily 1-hour sessions between 5.00-6.00pm on each day. Riders are required to attend all four days.

- Wednesday 19th June
- Wednesday 26th June
- Wednesday 3rd July
All sessions are held outdoors in a traffic free area at Cringeford CE VA Primary School (Dragonfly Land, Cringleford, Norwich, NR4 7JR).
Instructors encourage parents to get involved in all sessions so they can understand the skills being taught and help their child to practice outside of the sessions.
FAQs
What type of bike does my child need?
Participants will need a pedal bike that is in good working order for the course.
What should my child wear?
All sessions are held outdoors so participants should wear clothing and footwear that is suitable for the weather conditions on the day. Thin gloves are recommended on cold days.
Does my child need to wear a helmet?
Yes, we require all participants to wear a suitable bike helmet at all times during the courses. If you don't already have your own then we can lend you one. Please indicate when booking if you need to borrow any equipment.
What is the refund policy?
Full refunds are available up to 7 days prior to the start of the course. Alternatively, your place can be transferred to a future course.
If a session(s) has to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or instructor illness, then an additional session will be added to the end of the course (date to be specified by Little Riders).
