Improv Workshop - Tell me what you want, what you really, really want!

In this workshop, we’ll dive deep into character-driven improv by focusing on one powerful truth: characters are defined by what they want. Whether your character is craving power, love, validation, revenge, or just a good sandwich, clear wants create compelling scenes. We'll explore how strong desires influence choices, raise stakes, and drive stories forward—especially when they clash with other characters’ goals.
Through dynamic exercises and scenework, we’ll practice:
Identifying a character's want quickly
Playing with wants that evolve or intensify
Letting conflicting objectives shape plot and pacing
Using clarity of want to anchor emotionally truthful performances—even in wild or comedic scenes
Perfect for intermediate improvisers and up who want to sharpen their scene work and make bold, character-driven choices that light up the stage.

Nick has been improvising for nearly fifteen years and performed and studied across the world. He performed on stage over 50 times in 2024 and can be seen in shows with The Imperfectionists and Improv Academy. He has attended classes with Hoopla and The Free Association in London, and Flock Theater in Amsterdam. He is a regular attendee at Improv Festivals and was most recently seen performing as part of an ensemble cast at the Robin Hood International Improv Festival in the United Kingdom and at the Moment Festival in Vienna.
