IMPROV nights are improvised live electronica shows with the real-time creation of electronic music. The artists use synthesizers, drum machines and samplers to compose and perform spontaneous and improvised soundscapes, rather than playing pre-recorded sets.The first volume will not feature computers and will be a side-by-side performance of two electronic artists. With a rich history in their respective genres, the night will all be generated on the spot by M-PHONIK+RKD.

RKD (aka Ross Dutton) started DJing in 2004 and has been producing electronic music since 2010. RKD is his newest alias originally DJing and producing under other aliases, such as Feedback and Stand&Deliver.
Under the alias Feedback he hosted Wellington's Radioactive.fm's weekly show 'The Garden Shed' for over a decade, where he played exclusively New Zealand electronic music, and interviewed and showcased well established and up and coming artists across Aotearoa.
He has played and produced various genres over the last two decades including Drum N'Bass, breaks, glitch-hop, techno and electro-soul/trip-hop. He also performed live shows as half of industrial techno heavyweights Duo Alias.
RKD, originally from Wellington has now been living in Nelson for three years and is putting down roots and starting to connect with the local music community.
Now, with a new name, in a new city and dipping into a multi genre expansion, he has decided to push the live electronica sound in Nelson with 'IMPROV' - Live Electronica's, 'WAA! Club' gig this February and welcomes anyone to pop in and say "kia ora" and have some fun.
== M-PHONIK==
M-Phonik is a stalwart in the Nelson music scene playing dub, UKG, Dubstep and Drum n’ Bass and is the Co-founder/builder of the ‘Tahunanui Hifi’ sound system.
He has performed at a large variety of festivals over the years, including Twisted Frequency, Rolling Hertz, Dystopia, Discombobulation and many other local club gigs at East Street, DeVille’s and Paradox.
Joining RKD on stage he will be bringing his own signature sound of synths, dub delays and sampling.
