Free yourself from form with the free-flowing philosophy of the famous J.T.S. Brown style developed by the best of the Chicago improv scene!
About this Event

"Challenging but rewarding, complex yet freeing, JTS Brown is renowned as one of the most unique improv forms ever created... JTS Brown is different, experimental, and infectiously inspiring. It is a philosophy of play more than anything else. It is organic, physically active and relies primarily on spontaneity (vs being in your head). You won’t have time to go into your head. It utilizes a level of group mind that is amazing. Taking a JTS Brown class should have many artistic take-aways for you in and of itself. Your improv skills should bump up a notch given the demands of the form." - Carolyn Cole, ImprovNow

"J.T.S. Brown was not a form so much as a philosophy of play. It was designed for a large cast (10-14 people), to involve as many players as possible at a time, to have a higher level of theatricality and polish than a typical improv show, and to encourage any move to be made at any time, with the idea that anything that happened was the perfect thing to happen. We didn’t have a set structure, but we had a few rules to abide by." - Craig Cackowski, as told to Nick Armstron in "J.T.S. Brown: An Improv Journey"

"A perfect show that incorporated short form's speed and playfulness with long form's patience and freedom." - Ed Goodman, The Second City
