COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course is suited to dentists, OHTs and hygienists. Elevate and improve your skills in the successful management implant patients.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
> The differences in care between natural teeth and implants
>Understand the classifications of periodontal disease and implant health and disease
> Undersanding biofilm and the role it plays in mucositis and peri-implantitis
> Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) protocol and why it is indespensable for the pre-treatement, post-operative and life-long maintenance of implant patients
>Effectively be able to perform AIRFLOW Max, PERIOFLOW and PIEZON PI Max treatment around implants

YOUR TRAINER: Professor Axel Spahr Dr. med. dent. habil., MRACDS (Perio)
Prof. Spahr is the Director of Oral Rehabilitation and Head of the Discipline Periodontics, as well as Deputy Head of School at The University of Sydney Dental School.
Prof. Spahr is the former Head of Periodontics at the University of Ulm in Germany and has also worked at various international universities and research facilities. He has additional training in microbiology, molecular biology, extensive experience in basic science research, animal research and clinical research. His research interests include periodontal regeneration, bone regeneration, periodontitis and systemic diseases, antimicrobial therapy as well as dental implants and peri-implant diseases. He has led large externally funded research projects and is collaborating with leading international research groups and companies in the field of periodontology, implantology and bone regeneration. He has authored numerous publications in international peer-reviewed dental and medical journals, book chapters, and has presented his work at professional conferences worldwide.
Prof. Spahr is a board registered periodontal specialist, working part-time in an established specialist periodontal and implant practice here in Sydney and is the past President of the Periodontal Research Group of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR). He is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), the International College of Dentists (ICD), and the Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA).

If the SDA cancels a course, registrants will be offered a full refund (excluding Eventbrite fees). Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of a course, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund (excluding Eventbrite fees) or transfer registration to the same course at the new, future date.
Registration Cancellation by Participant If you are unable to attend the SDA, we welcome substitute delegates attending in your place at no additional cost but they must meet the registration requirements.
