Nurse Practitioners are increasingly taking larger roles in meeting the primary care needs of our nation!Do we have the skill base in minor procedures to practice to the fullest extent of our education and credentialing?Attendance at this 1/2 day workshop is URGENT for NP students, PA students, and any primary care professional seeking to learn or refresh these minor skills:
- Local anesthesia and digital blocks
- Incision and drainage of abscesses
- Foreign body removal (e.g. fishhooks, splinters, nasal foreign bodies)
- Finger and toe procedures (e.g. paronychia, trephination, ring removal)
- Minor laceration care - adhesives, staple, sutures PLUS complimentary take home suture kit for practice
- Corneal abrasions and fluorescein examination
- Dix Hallpike and Epley maneuvers
- Reduction of Nursemaid elbow
6.5 CEUs for attendance (includes 1.0 pharmacology) This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (OBN-001-91)
