Impact Atlanta Conference 2022

Are you looking to make real, impactful change in Atlanta? Join the Global Shapers Atlanta Hub for IMPACT ATL! Our focus is to mobilize our community around 6 focus areas that impact our city and to brainstorm and develop real solutions to these issues.

6 Areas of Focus

• Protect the planet - Reduce emissions, fight drought, respond to natural disasters, preserve biodiversity, converse nature, promote sustainable consumption, and more.
• Reskill for the future - Provide all people with better education, skills and jobs to ensure no one is left behind in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, along with promoting new standards of work, digital literacy, online safety, and more.
• Strengthen civic engagement - Empower minority leadership, mobilize citizen voting, inspire youth to run for local politics, ensure representation in decision-making and solution-building at all levels of society, and more.
• Create inclusive communities - Advocate for human rights, modernize social norms and disrupt harmful stereotypes related to gender, race, sexual orientation, disability, homelessness, statelessness, and more.
• Improve health and well-being - Achieve health equality, ensure access to health services, address the social determinants of health, advance youth mental health support, respond to pandemics, and more.
• Deliver basic needs - Respond to local disasters, take humanitarian action, end hunger, fight extreme poverty, and more, to support the world’s most vulnerable communities.

As one of the fastest growing cities in the Southeast, Atlanta has emerged as a hotbed for innovation and transformative ideas. Even with this potential at the forefront, our city must also contend with a number of current issues that stand to have negative immediate and long-term consequences for the local community. As Atlanta continues to evolve, how might we take actionable steps towards crafting thoughtful solutions that address our city’s issues and bridge the gaps between community needs and community action?

At IMPACT ATL 2022, our focus will be on identifying our own strengths and leveraging those attributes in the interest of serving our community through tangible action. Join us for a weekend of dialogue, workshops, and interactive sessions around our focus areas of climate change, equity, health justice and outline how we may take the first step in moving plans forward to have a tangible positive impact.

IMPACT ATL is a hybrid conference over a three-day weekend. Due to the nature of the pandemic, we are going to adhere to public health guidelines outlined by CDC and public health agencies both locally and nationally as a 501(c)3 nonprofit. The safety of our speakers, panelists and attendees is of upmost concern for us. Therefore, we will be requiring masks at this event and proof of vaccination and/or a negative COVID-19 test before entry. Masks may only be removed temporarily when all guests are actively eating and/or drinking food. If and when the COVID-19 pandemic poses to be a safety concern, we have the right and will inform all invited guests, speakers and attendees of the change of course immediately as soon as possible.
