Få moderne politiske skikkelser har vært så kontroversielle og frittalende – til og med misforstått – som Imelda Marcos, tidligere filippinsk førstedame og tema for prisvinnende filmskaper Ramona Díaz sin overbevisende og provoserende film, IMELDA. Imelda er universelt kjent under sitt fornavn, og er enken til Ferdinand Marcos, tidligere eksilpresident på Filippinene som opprettholdt nære bånd med USA selv da han erklærte unntakstilstand i 1972. I filmen forteller Imelda Marcos for første gang sin historie om å komme fra beskjedne kår til å bli en av de rikeste og mektigste kvinnene i moderne verdenshistorie. Etter filmen vil det bli en eksklusiv samtale med regissør Ramona Díaz sammen med et panel (TBA). Filmen er tekstet på engelsk.
Arrangementet er en del av Nobels Fredssenters Freedom of Expression Festival og arrangeres i samarbeid med Film fra Sør, Den amerikanske ambassaden i Oslo og 3KT.
Det vil være muligheter for kjøp av mat og drikke på 3KT. Sitteplasser både under åpen himmel og under tak.

Few contemporary political figures have been as controversial and outspoken – even misunderstood – as Imelda Marcos, the former Philippine First Lady and subject of award-winning filmmaker Ramona Diaz's compelling and provocative film, IMELDA. Universally known by her first name, Imelda is the widow of the late Ferdinand Marcos, exiled president of the Philippines who maintained close ties with the U.S. even as he proclaimed martial law in 1972. IMELDA marks the first time that Mrs. Marcos has agreed to tell her story and details her controversial rise from humble provincial origins with a combination of guile, ambition and beauty to become one of the richest and most powerful women in contemporary world history.
After the screening, there will be an exclusive conversation with director Ramona Diaz and a panel (TBA)
The film will have English subtitles.
The event is part of the Nobel Peace Center’s Freedom of Expression Festival and is organized in collaboration with Film fra Sør, The U.S. Embassy in Oslo and 3KT.
Food and drinks are for sale at 3KT. Seating both under the open sky and under roof.
