Join us as we welcome the stirrings of spring and honor Brigid, Celtic goddess of poetry, healing, smithcraft, and the sacred flame. Imbolc marks the halfway point between winter solstice and spring equinox—a time when life quietly quickens beneath the frozen earth and ewes begin nursing their newborn lambs. Similar to Candlemas in the Catholic church, this holy day celebrates the growing light with the blessing of candles and the kindling of sacred fires. In Celtic pagan tradition, Brigid walks the land at Imbolc, blessing the sleeping earth and kindling the spark of creativity in all beings. As bears begin stirring in their dens and the light grows stronger each day, we too are called to awaken and create anew.
In this special gathering, we'll work together to craft our own ritual honoring Brigid's gifts of inspiration and transformation. Through collaborative creative expression, we'll weave poetry, movement, and intention into a ceremony that celebrates this threshold time of quickening life and returning light.
Please bring:
- A journal and pen
- A small object that represents creativity or inspiration to you
- A candle (preferably white, cream, or pale green, but that's up to you)
- Light snacks or drinks to share for our post-ritual feast
No previous ritual writing experience needed—just bring your imagination and openness to creative exploration in sacred community.
