About this Event
The International Marketplace Coalition hosts a monthly lunch tour which allows guests to enjoy new restaurants in the neighborhood in a friendly group environment. Hear from IMC and restaurant staff about favorite dishes, hear about upcoming developments in the neighborhood, and more while trying new-to-you cuisine! This month we will visit Nigerian-owned EKO African Cuisine which serves west African cuisine favorites. One of the highlights of eating at EKO is trying fufu with your meal. Fufu is a starchy accompaniment made of cassava, plantain, yam, or any combination of the three to form a doughy texture. Small pieces are pinched off by hand to create a nest in which stews are souped into before eating it all together. It’s not much different from eating with a tortilla, pita, or naan. If you have never tried it, we encourage you to join us! RSVP reserves a space during the tour, however, all guests are required to pay for their own meals.
