Assess clients for power seating and standing functions which offer clients pressure redistribution as well as daily function and health benefits.
Fitting Like A Glove - Prescribing Custom Manual Wheelchairs
Focus on configuring a custom manual wheelchair for propulsion efficiency and function. We will discuss evidence regarding the biomechanics of the push stroke in relation to axle placement and seat slope adjustments. We will also examine and demonstrate critical adjustments and selection of wheelchair components.
Assessing the Client for Power Assist Options
Assess and differentiate the power assist add on units on the market. We will discuss the client’s current wheelchair skills, environmental demands, and the clinical reasoning to determine what will optimize functional propulsion for the client.
