About this Event

Illustration Arts Festival 2024 (IAF) is the 5th edition of Singapore’s indie festival dedicated to celebrating ILLUSTRATION and ILLUSTRATORS across Asia and beyond!

This year’s festival features over 130 talented Illustrators from Singapore, Hongkong, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Taiwan and Malaysia! Collectively, these artists boast an instagram fan base of nearly 2 million followers!

In a time when AI, machine learning, and social media algorithms dominate our digital landscape, a physical festival like IAF is essential. It provides a vibrant platform to amplify the voices of image-making creators and enhances their visibility in the art community. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the dynamic world of illustration up close and personal!

Thank you for your generous support. Your $6 ticket (plus Eventbrite fee) allows unlimited re-entry throughout the day, and children under 6 enter for free.

It’s been a blazing hot year in Singapore, even the ART-ZOO friends miss the cool weather. Bruno Bear and Unicorn decided to come together with local Handcrafted Ice Cream brand, Creamier, and created popsicles for everyone! Come and chill out at the ART-ZOO Pop Park at the International Arts Festival 2024!

About ART-ZOO: ART-ZOO inspires curiosity, creativity and empathy through art and play. It is an imaginative world on the other side of the rainbow, and is filled with colourful animals and plants including extinct, endangered, and mythical creatures. The ART-ZOO world is an adventure to be embarked on by children of all ages.

About Creamier: Creamier is an independent ice cream and coffee lifestyle café based in one of the oldest heartland estates in Singapore. We specialize in the craft of creating premium ice creams and sorbets using our own recipes and unique production process. The magic of making good ice cream is nothing more than quality ingredients, lots of hard work and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and perfection. This is our philosophy at Creamier.


  • CINEMASCAPES by Mojoko (Singapore)

An electrifying exhibition of movie scenes reimagined in pop-psychedelic style. Diving deep into the archives of cinema, Mojoko brings light to scenes from films that have profoundly impacted his artistic journey. From cult classics to obscure gems, this collection underscores the lasting influence of cinema on his creative process.

Throughout the exhibition, recurring themes such as dystopian futures, countercultural movements, and the human psyche are explored. The selected scenes often illuminate moments of tension, transformation, and revelation, inviting viewers to reflect on the impact of cinema on their own lives.

As you navigate through the exhibition, allow yourself to be transported into these reimagined worlds, where each scene presents us with new characters, view points and perspectives.

About the Artist: Mojoko is best described as Pop art mash-up artist and collage specialist. His artworks explore the clashing of cultures, virtual vs reality, old vs new, east vs west and is often inspired by the energy of living in South east Asia. Working with psychedelic colours, he combines precise linework with incredibly rich detail to create mind-bending landscapes.

Featuring the talented couple Ardneks and Phantasien, who are also members of the Jakarta-based pop/psychedelia band Crayola Eyes, which is signed under the London label Fuzz Club.

About the artists:

Ardneks

Ardneks is a Jakarta-based illustrator whose work heavily hallmarks music while at the same time peels on the playful combination of cross-culture references, highly saturated colors, intergalactic imageries, and dreamy tropicália. He opened his graphics studio Paraiso Grafica in 2012 and has since focused working on music-related projects. From record jackets to gig posters and music festivals, he has worked with an array of bands and musicians across the globe such as Khruangbin, Moon Duo, Night Beats, Desert Daze Festival, Levitation and Lollapalooza just to name a few. He has also had the opportunities to contribute editorial works for The New York Times, L.A. Times, Kiblind Magazine and Mubi’s Cannes Film Festival notebook.

Phantasien

Phantasien is the pseudonym of Anindya Anugrah, a self-taught illustrator based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Her unique approach to illustration involves creating collages by blending public domain materials with her original drawings. This results in captivating collage artworks that seamlessly combine elements from various sources, forming entirely new enchanting narratives. Her fictional elements often revolve around historical and cultural references from different time periods around the world. Aside taking commissioned projects, she also enjoys creating one-of-a-kind products and wearable merchandise that features her artworks.

  • Ardhira Putra (Indonesia)

Through a VHS player, we enter the hyper-colored, funky universe of Ardhira Putra, a Singapore-based Indonesian artist who’s been turning his nostalgia into eye-popping works of art. He populates his illustrations and animations with characters, ad tags, and pop visuals inspired by the 1980s and 90s—all with a backdrop of swaying palm trees. This city pop style acts as a throwback to his beloved boyhood and the heydays of laissez-faire capitalism in Asia.

About the artist: Ardhira Anugrah Putra was born in Jakarta Indonesia in 1988. he graduated from Animation major Multimedia University in Malaysia. He is an Indonesian Film Festival Best Animation award-winning for his work “Surat untuk Jakarta” in 2016. For the past years Ardhira created a visual for a global music scene, from Barefood (Jakarta) Macross 82-99 (mexico) , Nice guys record (france),DJdidilong (Taiwan), Engelwood (US),Yungbae (US), MDSGGN from Stonesthrow record (US), Niagara Triangle – Eiichi Ohtaki, Masamichi Sugi, Motoharu Sano (JPN).

Ardhira’s famous works is Crystal Dolphin MV for Engelwood. Engelwood Crystal Dolphin itself has become one of the most viral sounds of TikTok, reaching over 300 million streams worldwide, going viral on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok 3 times over. The Crystal Dolphin MV featured on some International creative Website article such as CreativeBoom (UK), Motionographer (US), Creativereview (UK), KIBLIND (France). And become a guest speaker at Vancouver Film School for the Crystal Dolphin MV.

  • Ikuiku Studio by Sasaya (Taiwan)

Ikuiku Studio, an illustration studio founded by illustrator Sasaya, is based in Taiwan. It emerged after Sasaya’s working holiday in Australia ended in 2018, marking a eureka moment.

The studio is renowned for conveying a colorful utopian message to the world: ‘lust is an instinct and love is diverse.’ Sasaya has exhibited widely, garnering fans not only in Taiwan but also in Japan. Through her delightful and amusing creations, such as the ‘Republic of Iku-Iku,’ she envisions a future where discussions about sexuality are as casual as deciding what to have for breakfast.

  • Nnene.iie x BKKIF (Thailand)

As part of our collaboration with the Bangkok Illustration Fair (@bkkif_official), we are proud to present our Thai guest artist, Nnene.iie. She was the recipient of IAF’s award during BKKIF 2023 for her outstanding sketchbooks and drawings.

Nnene.iie is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Bangkok, Thailand. She is passionate about drawing with black pen on paper and exploring various techniques for creating both personal and commercial works. Daily life objects and spontaneous moments inspire most of her creations.


Partner Festivals

IAF is actively working with illustration events such as BKKIF (Bangkok Illustration Festival), KLIF (KL Illustration Fair), and JiCAF (Jakarta Illustration & Creative Arts Fair) to make the scene in Asia more vibrant and interesting!

We hope to extend and include more up-and-coming festivals like the Manila Illustration Fair to the fold!
