Our biggest beach volleyball event of the year is back! With a new name, the same tournament you know and love returns for 2026. Formerly SPARTA, the Illawarra Open marks the next chapter of this long-running IVA event, bringing two full days of beach volleyball, great competition, and even better vibes.
• Saturday 21st - Sunday 22nd February 2026
• Woonona Beach, NSW
• Games running from 8:00am - 6:00pm (depending on numbers)
What’s on:
• Saturday: Men’s & Women’s 2v2
• Sunday: Mixed 4s
What’s up for grabs:
• Champions of the Men’s & Women’s divisions will have their names engraved on our perpetual trophy
• Prize money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each division
• Best Dressed Team award for the Mixed 4s
Entry Fees:
• Men’s / Women’s 2v2 – $60 per team
• Mixed 4s – $80 per team
(One player registers and pays on behalf of the team)
The Illawarra Open is open to all skill levels and is a great entry point into competitive beach volleyball - whether you’re chasing the trophy or just keen for a fun weekend on the sand.
