ILK/Blowout sessions December 5th & 7th 2021
In the series of Nordic Collaborating bands you will find bass player Peter Danstrup with an exciting group of Danish and Norwegian musicians: Eivind Lønning (trumpet), Helga Myhr (hardangerfele), Marilyn Mazur (drums) and Peter Danstrup (bass guitar).
Helga Myhr has taken the Norwegian folklore instrument hardangerfele – a different form of the violin with added sympathetic strings – into the improv music in a convincing way, Lønning’s trumpet playing, often in combination with electronics, has already given him international acknowledgement and Marilyn Mazur has long ago established her name at the global jazz scene, having played with the absolute jazz elite when she joined the bands of Miles Davis and Wayne Shorter in the 1980’ies. Danstrup joined Mazur for a long period of time in bands like Six Winds and Mazur/Markussen Group. Today he is also one of the most diligent composers on the Danish Jazz scene.
Keywords for the music are improvisation and lyrical soundscapes combined with curiosity and experiments.
The quartet plays in Copenhagen at H15 Sunday December 5th and in Oslo at Kafe Hærverk December 7th.

I rækken af nordiske samarbejdskoncerter har bassisten Peter Danstrup samlet et spændende hold af danske og norske musikere: Eivind Lønning (trompet), Helga Myhr (hardangerfele), Marilyn Mazur (trommer) og Peter Danstrup (basguitar).
Helga Myhr har bragt det norske folkemusikinstrument – som er en variant af violonen mmed resonansstrenge – ind i improvisationsmusikken med overbevisende styrke, Lønnings trompetspil, i kombination med elektronika, har allerede givet genklang internationalt og Marilyn Mazur har for længst slået sit navn fast på den globale jazzscene efter at have spillet med topkoryfæer som Miles Davis og Wayne Shorter i 1980’erne. Danstrup har haft et langt samarbejde med Mazur i grupper som Six Winds og Mazur/Markussen Group og er ellers en af de mest flittige komponister på den danske jazzscene i øjeblikket.
Hovedoverskriften for musikken er improvisation og lyriske klangflader tilsat nysgerrighed og eventyrlyst.
Kvartetten spiller i København søndag
5/12 på H15 og i Oslo på Kafe Hærverk 7/12.
