Ikebana Demonstration by Koka

Come witness the artistry of Ikebana as Koka showcases her skills in floral arrangement. For this special event, she'll be using beautiful Scottish flowers selected by FLOWERMUG. Ikebana🌸 is the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement, with origins dating back to the 6th century. Ikebana artists have their philosophies and techniques. Through this live demonstration, she hopes to share them with you.

Koka Iwata👱‍♀️ is an Ikebana artist and a certified Ikebana teacher from Tokyo, Japan. She has been teaching Ikebana since 2020 and gives lessons in English to people from all over the world. She has taught more than 200 tourists in a year in her class and at hotels, such as Palace Hotel Tokyo and Janu Tokyo. She also offers lessons to Japanese people and children, both in-person and online. In addition, she creates Ikebana installations and gives demonstrations at various events.

She'd like to share Ikebana with people all over the world — not just as a traditional Japanese flower art, but as a meditative act that celebrates the beauty of subtraction and mindfulness.
