About this Event
Sogetsu Ikebana is a creative art that can take many forms and expressions. Anyone can enjoy arranging Ikebana anytime and anywhere, using any material. Sogetsu Ikebana aims to be present, to be vibrant and to be flexible. Many beautiful flowers and plants are the products of Mother Nature but, Ikebana is the product of man’s creativity and imagination in the arrangement. Everyone has creativity and artistic talent, while you are learning Ikebana you will find it within.
During each class, you will bring your own flowers and branches. You can look around your garden, your neighbor’s garden, your friend’s garden or buy flowers from the store. If you have Kenzan (Flower frog), Ikebana scissors/garden scissor, and container, please bring them to the class. Those that have been coming to class for years will do their own theme lesson, all new students will start from basic style of Ikebana.
