Welcome to SUS Ignite Conference 2023! The Ignite Conference is back after 3 years.
As Science students, we are navigating a job field in the post-pandemic reality that has been shaped and transformed by the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to equip you to face this new reality as you start your career now or in the near future with our theme for this year, "Ignite Your Career: Post-Pandemic".
At Ignite 2023, you will have the opportunity to ignite your career, develop professionally, and build your network. Come learn employable skills in interactive workshops hosted by industry professionals, alumni, and researchers. Learn about what your career paths you can explore after graduation in industry, research, technology, law, business, and more.
What you can expect from Ignite 2023:
- Workshops: Participate in interactive workshops focusing on topics ranging from interview skills, research to entrepreneurship, lab tours, etc. Run by various speakers from industry professionals, researchers, alumni and more.
- Keynote Speaker: Hear valuable insight from our keynote speaker as they share about their career journey coming from a Science background, and how students can succeed in the current job field following the pandemic.
- Panels: Hear from 2 panels of researchers and professionals in careers outside of scientific academia. Learn about potential careers in law, business, technology, industry, government, or others, as well as how you can get started in research as an undergraduate.
- Networking: The opportunity to connect with the professionals, researchers, and alumni and expand your professional network. Form connections with fellow Science students and meet new friends within your faculty!
- Headshot booth: Have your professional headshot taken by a SUS photographer.

Time: 1:00 - 6:30 PM
Location: BIOL 1000, Biological Sciences Building
Dinner networking will be optional from 6:45 - 8:00 PM at Abdul Ladha Student Centre. Food will be provided. Please indicate if you would like to reserve a spot for dinner networking in this registration form.
NOTE: Admission to Ignite 2023 is by donation of school supplies. Please bring your donation to the check-in booth at the start of the conference.
