After last year's success, the IGEA Educates Studio Tour Returns in 2024!

Join us on June 21st in Brisbane for an unparalleled journey into the heart of the Australian gaming industry, presented by IGEA. This exclusive studio tour is tailored for tertiary educators who are eager to connect with the pulse of modern game development!

The tour will kick off at Gameloft, Queensland's largest studio, famed for such award-winning titles as Oregon Trail and My Little Pony: Mane Merge.

After a studio tour, Gameloft's HR team will talk about their talent pipeline: Where do they find their juniors, what do they expect of them, and how does the hiring and onboarding process work?

In the second talk at Gameloft, the team will cover studio staff's development trajectory from junior to mid and senior. What are the expectations and skills that come with every step and how can educators prepare their students to climb this ladder?

After the talks, there will be an opportunity to network with the Gameloft team over lunch.

After, the tour will continue to The Precinct.

Here Anthony Wood from Tantalus North and Ralf Muehlberger from Ardacious will explore the different expectations of indie and AAA studios when it comes to graduates and their skills.

This will be followed by Tantalus North's Technical Lead Anna Tito talking about the studio's expectations when it comes to graduates' skills and how they relate to their way of making – and porting! – games.

The last activity at The Precinct will be a roundtable discussion between these industry members and educators to explore challenges and opportunities (and give educators the chance to ask the questions they were always afraid to ask!).

The event will end with drinks at Finn McCool's; IGEA will invite its Brisbane-based members to this for even more networking opportunities.

Still, if you need one more excuse to travel to Brisbane, the Queensland Games Festival will take place at the Powerhouse the very next day! This is your chance to discover the rich creativity of the state's game-making industry.

In short, this is more than a tour; it is a gateway to inspiration and collaboration.

Reserve your spot today! Limited spaces available. Secure your place in this exclusive event and be at the forefront of educational innovation.
